Woman Killed in New Jersey Car Accident

Gail Walsh, 57, of Cinnaminson

Gail Walsh, 57, of Cinnaminson was killed in a New Jersey car accident after a truck carrying sand went out of control and dumped its load on to her vehicle. According to an ABC news report, the fatal car accident occurred at the intersection of Haddonfield-Berlin Road and Morris Drive in Cherry Hill. Police say the dump truck driven by 40-year-old Ezequiel Rivera was westbound on Haddonfield-Berlin Road when it swerved to avoid another vehicle that was turning left in front of the truck. The load of sand shifted and the truck rolled over on top of Walsh’s Lexus SUV that was stopped at the intersection. Walsh died from her injuries. No one else was injured. Officials are still investigating the circumstances of this fatal crash.

I offer my heartfelt sympathies to everyone who knew and loved Gail Walsh for their devastating loss. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Camden Take Second Place, Most Dangerous City

Camden

New Jersey has yet another reason to be talked about across the nation, and this time it is not the bizarre escapades of the “Jersey Shore” cast. No, this time it is because New Jersey plays host to one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S.

Camden has yet again been named one of the Most Dangerous Cities in the country by CQ Press City Crime Rankings. Flint, Michigan barely beat out Camden for the first spot on the list, leaving Camden with the title of the second most dangerous city. For years now, Camden has been included in the Most Dangerous Cities; it even took the first place spot in 2004, 2005, and 2009.

In an article featured on Philly.com residents are saying that the situation in Camden seems to be getting worse and one Camden resident, Carlos Vega, went as far as to say, “We don’t have any real policing in Camden, they’re just out here to pick up the bodies.”

It is scary to think that this is happening in our own backyard. After years of being on this list, one would hope steps were being made to help make Camden a safer place, but change doesn’t seem to be happening fast enough if at all.
